Disease in global fish farming costs the aquaculture industry in excess of £6 billion per annum through mortality and reduced growth rates. It leads to increased use of antibiotics.
This problem is addressed through the development of effective vaccines and delivery systems which can massively reduce the economic, environmental and welfare impact of disease outbreaks.
Aqualife have been at the forefront of vaccine delivery in fish since 1996. To date we have vaccinated well in excess of one billion fish around the World.
Since 2013, Aqualife have been working on automated solutions for the delivery of vaccine in fish. We now have a dedicated R & D function in-house designing and building exciting new products.
Check out the animated video below to see our automated vaccine delivery concept.
This animation represents a concept Aqualife first conceived and secured funding for in 2003. With advances in robotics, imaging and artificial intelligence, we have been working hard to bring this idea to life.
