Aqualife created it’s innovation division to give us the ability to design and build our own automated systems. The name Aquerra comes from the joining of “Aqua” and “Terra” representing the Agritech space in which we exist to push the boundaries of technology.
Aquerra cultivates innovative thinking and engineering expertise in Agritech, to harvest a safer, more prosperous, and more sustainable future for clients across the aquaculture and agriculture sectors. We work as a partner in innovation with our clients and as our own dedicated research and development division.
In 2018, Stirling University decided to rent out their flow-through smolt unit and hatchery and we were fortunate in securing the lease. This gave us access to our own fish for testing purposes, modern refurbished offices, storage and laboratory and workshop facilities.
From this base, we have assembled a team of engineers who bring an excellent mix of experience and youth. We have the capability, in-house, to take any engineering project from the ideas stage to design for manufacture.
