Our mechanical engineering team have many years of experience bringing concept designs to life, introducing reliable functionality, cost effectiveness, efficiency and reduced complexity. Our team have mechanical design backgrounds from the Aquaculture, Oil & Gas, Defence, Renewable Energy, consumer product, medical and Biomedical industries.
Industrial Automation
Aquerra’s in-house industrial automation team can design and implement all kinds of motion control using the latest industrial robots, Programmable Logic Controllers as well as developing their own motion control systems. They are skilled in integrating all these tools with bespoke hardware and software design. The team can demonstrate the success of these skills by showing Aquerra’s recently developed semi automated and fully automated fish vaccination systems.
Industrial Design
A key challenge to a successful product is the user experience, therefore Aquerra take industrial design very seriously. We research customer requirements, ergonomics and aesthetics during the concept design phase before we embark on the engineering detail design.
Prototyping
Whether it is simulating algorithms, or proof of concept of a machine, we prototype all designs before embarking on any detailed design phase of a project. We have in house fabrication facilities where we can fabricate or modify parts. We utilise the latest Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools on the market for developing ideas in 2D space and for prototyping and simulating algorithms.
Data Science and Artificial Intelligence
Our own in-house team of data scientists are able to store, organise, manipulate, and analyse data on a massive scale. They have experience in developing algorithms to predict future results from past data (Machine Learning and Deep Learning), facilitating forecasting that can help identify routes to add greater and more sustainable value for our clients. At present, the Aquerra data team are engineering a database system capable of analysing the huge datasets delivered by our automated fish vaccinations, to act as a catalyst for future Agritech innovation.
